Hello all fans of Miss Mommy!
I am Christy and I blog over at High heels 2 flip flops.

My blog is about me enjoying motherhood.
Sharing my joy and my frustrations.
Learning to have faith through life's trials.
Celebrating our happiness together.
I have quickly become good friends of Nicole's and can understand why so many people are drawn to her and read her blog.
I appreciate her allowing me to guest post on her blog today.

When thinking of what I was going to write about I was stumped.
I couldn't think of a single thing.
I figured I would let it go and it would come to me.
Today it did.
I was getting ready like I do most days and my 2 and a half year old daughter was watching me get ready.
She loves to watch me do my make-up, having me dust my blush brush across her sweet cheeks.
She adores me doing her hair and painting her toenails.
She is the definition of a girlie girl.

I always tell her how beautiful and pretty she is.
Wanting SO badly for her to know this and to grow up feeling confident.
Today as I was telling her how pretty she is God spoke to me.
"Do you want your daughter to think that all that matters is outer beauty?"
Woah.
I had never thought of that before.
I honestly felt like I was trying to build her confidence.
Something I will forever continue to do.
Now I realize that I need to build her up in many other ways.
Telling her how bright and smart she is.
That she is funny and cleaver.
What a tender and good heart she has.
Completely and utterly sweet.
Of course I will continue to do this for my other small daughter who is only 9 months old.

Telling her she is uniquely beautiful.
One of God's finest creations.
That she has a smile that could melt the harshest person.
Letting them both know that true beauty shines from within.
That it is not their face, body or hair that shows beauty but instead their soul.
It is not what the world teaches us "beautiful" is.
It is the kindness they show to others and the joy they share with the world.
A beautiful woman exudes patience, has a soft voice, says kind words, cares for others and strives to live a life of pureness.
That is what a true beautiful woman looks like.
Those are the things I desire for my daughters to learn.
Hopefully they can learn them from me.
I realize that even when we are not speaking we are teaching our children.
Through all of our actions they learn from us.
This makes me resolve to do better.
To improve myself to be a greater example to them.
To show them they are beautiful.
The real meaning of beauty.
