Mommy needs a Time Out

I'm having whats called a "Mommy Meltdown Day".
It's only 4:28 pm, and i'm already in my pajama's waiting for 7 pm to arrive so the kids can go to bed.

If one more person or animal follows me into the bathroom, I might just have to hide in my pantry again and finish off that bag of chocolate chips.

I love solving everyones problems, cooking, and meeting all of their needs, but sometimes I just want to be left alone.  If Hubs asks me one more time where his keys or wallet is, i might just scream!

I was in the bathroom for just a small sliver of peace when I hear the girls fighting right outside the door.  It's not 2 seconds later that they're both in the bathroom, then the cats in there swirling through my legs....what is SO important that I can't have 5 minutes of privacy?.  You really have to follow me into the bathroom?

I know I am the nurturer & the matriarch of this family but really.....the bathroom?.

I'm not saying this to complain just for the sake of complaining, i'm saying this because I know all you super moms out there relate.  Tell me you relate to this?.

Now that i've taken a few moments here to relax and share  this with you, I will feel better equipped to carry on with dinner, bath, reading and getting the girls to bed.

I know my "Mommy Meltdown" will be back at some point.  Oh this Meltdown Monster will be back, and i'll be forgoing my right to pee in private again.  But I take it all in stride, while wearing last years fashions so my girls have new clothes for next season.

Tell me about your Mommy Meltdowns

Oh yes! I have those days, actually it's almost EVERYDAY!! I just want to scream, if anyone touches me ONE MORE TIME!!! That's it!!! Why is it only the momma can't pee, eat, sleep, shower, (insert everything else under the sun) in peace!? I can totally relate. You look totally cute in your pj's by the way. :)

We all need mommy time outs, I just never get to have one. Hope your night gets better and you can finally get some peace to regroup and recharge. {{Hugs}} to you Nicole!

I had a mommy meltdown today too! My baby exploded her diaper, I sighed, "ok", I thought- diaper change... no big deal. Put her on the bed (sheets in the wash), and grab the wipes; she has now puked every last bit of formula everywhere, and now she's screaming. Clean her up, move her and put a fresh diaper on and a new onesie... did I mention I literally had to CUT the first onesie off of her? There was no other way to get it off without poo being ALL over her! I start carrying her downstairs and realize something smells, there is runny poo dripping DOWN my leg, down the stairs, and she is now "coo-ing" like la di da di da, "that felt good" type of thing. ARE.YOU.KIDDING!? How was this even possible!? Diapers are supposed to hold poop in! This was seriously elusive, like I didn't hear it, nothing. All within 10 minutes. And this was all before noon! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Oh gosh, tell me about it! I can't go to the bathroom without the little one following me, it is rather annoying, and I get very annoyed with it! Sometimes I just can't wait for bed time to roll around so I can have some peace and quiet lol

Oh you poor thing. And I'm afraid I don't have good news for you. My kids (including the teenager) still fight the moment I go into the bathroom and still "attempt" to follow me in there. I think though, as you and they get older, saying "Goodbye" and closing that bathroom door gets easier (and more fun) to do. Unfortunately they're all parked outside waiting for me to come out. I've found it's a girl thing. My boys really don't care. They like to hang out more when I'm making food! ;)

My Mp3 player saves me...it allows me (while turned up really loud) to just drown it out for a few minutes while everyone (including me) is in timeout. Music can really set the world right again.

I'd say 1:5 days for me are meltdown days. It's hard when you have zero time for yourself. I, too, go NUTS if the kids follow me to the bathroom. Now that they're old enough to be trusted to spend 30 seconds alone, I put a knob cover on the bathroom door. If it doesn't sound life or death, it can wait :)

Hope you're feeling better by now and got some rest! I know I've been (a little bit) more sane now that I'm finally enforcing 'quiet hour' around here. *big hugs*

Awe, Miss Mommy, I feel for you! I am still only mom to one little boy, so I don't have to deal with siblings fighting and what not. But I know what those days feel like, even if mine are to a lesser degree! I hope tomorrow is better. :)

I am right there with you girl. Yesterday the boys were just being ridiculous, constantly fighting, constantly not listening, they would not leave me along for two minutes. It does get frustrating sometimes! Your not alone girl! =D

YUP mommy meltdowns happen in this house too..sometimes to the point where I let husband deal with dinner and screaming kids while I go to bed early :P that happens rarely, but it does happen. and bedtime has to be one of my favorite parts of the day oh and nap time! I think all mommys will relate to this :)

Ethan follows me everywhere as well, to the washroom, mailbox, you name it. My little shadow is always behind me. With questions, questions, questions. On days where I just can't take it, I have even caught myself asking whose idea was it to have kids! I don't know how my husband can take it so much easier then I can. I wrote a post a while back about my own Mommy melt downs. I hope tomorrow is a calmer day for you!

You are not alone! This happens to me almost daily! With my 2 boys being 4 1/2 years apart they fight all the time. And it doesn't help that the 3 yr. old is a screamer (never thought I'd have "that" kid). And the 7 yr. old just instigates things to hear the other one scream. They love each other like nobody's business...but man can they fight. And same thing, they wait until I make a phone call to a business or important person, or while I just enter the laundry room/pantry to start getting things for dinner. Or while I'm in the bathroom. My 7 yr. old always comes in while I'm in the bathroom and just stands there staring at me, when I ask what he wants he just says "nothing, I was just seeing what your up to!" Good grief son! But you know what...in a few more years neither one of them will want to follow me everywhere I go or just see what I'm up to, so for now....I'll take it and love it at the end of the day! ;D

I am not a mommy... yet.

But I think you should just go somewhere like vacation! A nice calm place.

After reading this post, I am thinking my sister and I should probably stop chasing my mother all over the house every time she moves right? Did I mention we are 20 and 26? uh oh no wonder we drive the poor woman crazy! :) Hope your night goes better!
