The man that put things into perspective today
I know that it's still only Monday for some of you, and you haven't linked up your Tuesday Ten posts, but I had to post this now. It's weighing heavy on me today and needed to share this.
I hope you will all still link up :)****************
While sitting at work today, my boss took one of his clients in and as they walked past my office door my perspective on courage changed. You see, this wonderful and beautiful man was in an accident years ago and his entire face is left scarred from burns. He glanced into my office as he walked by so I only looked at him for a total of about 1 second and in that 1 second I changed. I thought "how terrible and tragic to have to live like that with a deformity". But this man apparently doesn't see it. He walked past my office with confidence and even let out a little smile as he walked back on by once his appointment was finished. Then I heard him say "I'll just go and stick my head into {so and so's} office and say hi". He wasn't ashamed to walk through the office and say hello to people. He was confident and proud. I feel a weight has been lifted today and feel so warm and fuzzy inside. I just had to share this tonight. This man changed me today. He showed me what true confidence and courage is.

This is so beautiful Nicole!!! I have chills going down my spine! All I can say is WOW! I can feel it in my heart just reading your lovely words. Thank you for sharing this.
I know you are in another time zone, please don't feel bad that you keep posting according to your time in Australia. The only reason I wouldn't link up is because I am slow and unorganized. :) The whole reason for the link party button is for people to find the party to post. If people want to join in, they will scroll down to find it.
Love you!! xoxo
wow. that is beautiful. thank you for sharing his courage with us nicole! always so heartfelt :)
The courage and spirit that radiates from people that have been through major incidents in life always amazes me. Its wonderful to see how they have overcome and persevered, and in most cases grown to show the world how to look through what's wrong with them on the outside, and to "see" the REAL person behind the scars. I wish I could be half the person that man is. Hats off to him!
Such a beautiful post and a great reminder to us all to not measure our self worth with our outside appearance. True beauty never fades.
I just saw your comment. (I'm a little slow I know) My email is trudyodea@msn.com I'd love to hear from you Nicole.
I admire this man and I have never met him. Thanks for sharing.

Both she and her husband survived a plane crash but were both left with burns on their bodies. Very inspiring blog - it's a must-read :)
I wanted to tell you that when I went to publish your comment that you left on my blog, I pressed Delete instead of Publish on accident because I was on my iPhone at the time and my big fat fingers just hit the wrong word! So even though the comment is not on my blog right now, just know that I did read it, and I am following you now, too :)
